the use of small manufactured objects. In “Expression,” I place a series of small manufactured objects together on a chessboard background, creating a feeling of playfulness as the pieces interact with each other in different positions, positions in which they would not normally be found. Things move closer and they move away from one another, allowing the viewer to see many different perspectives. The images contain an experience of expression, but they also create a desire and need for the viewer to see these objects in a new light.
