During my papermaking class, I drew inspiration from artist Anastassia Elias. She creates small worlds inside toilet paper rolls. Wanting to create my own small world, I took the bad endings in fairy tales using the Grimm Brothers and Hans Christian Andersen and showcased these rather than the average happily ever after versions. Using paper I made from yucca and corn, I took toilet paper rolls and used that as my base for wrapping my paper for forming the roll shapes. I then cut into the rolls sliding the figures into place.
